Recently, SMART initiated CommuniTeach to get a community actively involved in improving the learning of public elementary school students.
With CommuniTeach, SMART, with its partners, aims to provide after-school learning sessions through training of facilitators, provision of school supplies and learning materials and feeding in Bataan, Pampanga, Baguio, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu and Iloilo. The program aims to improve reading skills based on pre- and post-tests that will be given to the students.
PBSP will be implementing the program while Silid Aralan, Inc. will provide the learning technology. Funds, amounting to almost P2.7M, from SMART's support to the Motolite-PBSP Balik Baterya Program will be used to jumpstart CommuniTeach.
