Nestle Philippines, Inc. (NPI), specifically its North Distribution Center (NDC) and South Distribution Center (SDC) and Fast Cargo Logistics Corporation (NPI-NDC and SDC contractor for logistics) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PBSP and Ramcar, Inc. to support the Balik Baterya Program’s Project LEAP.
Their support to the program is an expression of their commitment to the Company’s sustainable Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiatives in nutrition, health and wellness, rural community development and environment.
Earlier in October, a series of presentations on battery recyling and the mechanics of the Balik Baterya Program to their truckers and EHS officers was also conducted. This is NDC’s and SDC’s contribution also to the company’s Greening the Supply Chain (GSC), an on-going outreach program to help business partners raise their level of commitment to environmental protection and improve their environmental performance.
Signing the MOU are Ramcar, Inc. CSR Head Eman Ragaza, PBSP Membership Development Unit Manager Vicky Co, Nestle NDC Head Romeo dela Cruz (represented by Ms. Evelyn Tila), Nestle SDC Head Jose Gerardo Sace, NPI’s Renato Alvarado, NPI's Abel Gonzales and Fast Cargo’s Manuel Onrejas, Jr.
