The first company based in Palawan to join the roster is Coral Bay Nickel Corporation. Funds generated from their used lead-acid batteries will be used to support public school education in areas outside Palawan.

CBNC is a hydromettalurgical processing plant established in 2002 through the combined efforts of Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Sojitz Corporation and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation. The plant site is located in Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan.
