In the Visayas, companies are encouraged to establish learning resource centers in their name by raising at least P40,000 worth of ULABs. Each learning resource center package contains books, instructional materials and a bookshelf.
The program, launched in 2006, involves collection of used lead-acid batteries (ULABs) for proper recycling and production of new automotive and industrial batteries and for corporate social responsibility projects. Premium value of ULABs will be given to donors who opt to support the Project LEAP: 1) provision of text/workbooks, 2) training of teachers, 3) remedial reading camps, 4) supplemental feeding, 5) Pres. Corazon Aquino School Desk Proj. and 6) Bayanihang Pampaaralan.
